The South Eastern County of Kent has long been called the Garden of England due to the combination of climate and soil which combine to provide perfect agricultural conditions for a large variety of crops. High in protein, mono-unsaturated fats, vitamins E and B-6, Hazelnuts (or Cobnuts as they’re known in Kent) have long been part of the human diet. Walnuts too have been consumed for thousands of years and are important sources of protein and vitamins, and contain Omega-6 and Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.
Nut Farms in the Kent countryside have been cultivating varieties of these nuts for generations and the process of harvesting them both for direct consumption, and cold pressing them for the extracting of oils happens in much the way it always has, beginning with picking the nuts from the trees in the orchards.
